1) In render settings/passes, create new pass called "CustomColor" and assign it to your render layer(s)
2) In Hypershade create mentalray node called "WriteToColorBuffer" ...its in the pretty last category "Miscellaneous" open attributes for it and select your render pass created in step 1 (you have to choose into which pass WriteToColorBuffer node writes in)
3) open connection editor and select your mia_mat and WriteToColorBuffer node (so mia is on left and write node on right side) and connect "add.result" to "color".
